Meet Lori McDowell, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, a nurse practioner with Woodrome Medical, PA, Livingston, Texas

Lori McDowell is a native Texan raised in the southeast side of Houston before moving to the East Coast as a young teen. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) who is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She is also certified by the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Workers (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as well as Emergency Trauma Nursing Certification (TNCC). Lori's nursing background includes many types of nursing including ventilator-telemetry in upstate New York, emergency and critical care including crisis room focus, nursery, postpartum, and pediatrics in Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania, travel critical care nursing in multiple cities in Texas before working in multiple freestanding emergency rooms. She worked in tele-triage focused on occupational health and industrial workers' health based out of the Woodlands Texas. Lori spent the last 2 years serving the Coldspring Texas community building a great bond with the patient population.

Lori earned her Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) at Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson New York where she was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa national honor society, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Western Governor's University in Salt Lake City Utah, and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) at Maryville University in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Lori prides herself on providing quality patient care with a focus on bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, mental health, helping the patient population maintain a drug-free lifestyle, and women's health. She truly cares for the patient, their families, and her community. Since graduating with her Master’s degree, she has been dedicated to making a true bond with her community members and has remained steadfast in striving to make a positive difference in her patients' lives by helping them to obtain and maintain the utmost health of mind and body.

Lori currently resides in Livingston, Texas with her husband and children. She enjoys spending time with her family on the lake and taking long walks at the local state park with her husband.
